Start Here — Find Your Mānuka Match
New to NZ Country Mānuka?
Start here — find your Mānuka match in 60 seconds.
We make two things: East Cape Mānuka Oil (the brand's foundation product since 2016) and the Mānuka Honey Tallow Balm (new — pre-order shipping June 2026).
Both come from the same East Cape, New Zealand sourcing relationship. Different chemistry, different jobs. This page tells you which one solves what — and when to use both.
If you only read one line on this page: Mānuka Oil is for treating specific skin issues (toenail fungus, acne, scars, fungal infections). The Tallow Balm is for daily skin nutrition and anti-aging. Most repeat customers end up using both.

The 60-second routing
Pick the sentence below that sounds most like you. Click through to that product page.
"I have a specific skin problem I want to treat."
That's Mānuka Oil 10ml (the starter size). East Cape Mānuka oil runs 20–30% β-triketones — up to 35× the concentration of standard Mānuka oil from other regions, and the compound class that makes this oil work on toenail fungus, acne, fungal skin issues, scars, and stubborn spot conditions. The 10ml is enough for one targeted protocol (e.g., 90-day toenail fungus regimen) or to test on your skin before committing to the larger bottle.
"I already know I like Mānuka oil — give me the value size."
That's Mānuka Oil 30ml. Same oil, same East Cape source, same per-batch GC-MS lab testing. About 3× the volume at less than 3× the price. Most repeat buyers move to the 30ml after they've validated the oil on their first concern.
"I want a daily moisturizer that's clean enough to eat."
That's the Mānuka Honey Tallow Balm (pre-order). Five ingredients: UMF 15+ Mānuka honey, grass-finished beef tallow, beeswax, vanilla oil, jojoba oil. No fillers, no fragrance, no preservatives. The tallow's lipid profile is nearly identical to human sebum — your skin recognises it as its own.
"I want the whole system."
Most longtime customers use the Tallow Balm for daily moisture + anti-aging and Mānuka Oil for targeted spot treatment. The 30ml oil + tallow balm together is the most common pairing.
Decision tree — by skin concern
The most-asked routing questions, answered straight. Use the oil for active treatment, the balm for nutrition and barrier repair. Many concerns benefit from both.
| Concern | Recommended product | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Toenail fungus / athlete's foot | 10ml Oil (start) → 30ml Oil (if multi-month) | β-triketones target fungal cell walls. Most users see results in 8–12 weeks of twice-daily use. |
| Acne / spots / blemishes | 10ml Oil (spot treatment) | Use a single drop on a cotton bud directly on spots. Oil is naturally cleansing without stripping skin. |
| Eczema / dermatitis / dry patches | Tallow Balm (daily) + Oil (flare-ups) | Balm restores skin barrier with tallow + honey. Oil is added during flare-ups for the active compound effect. |
| Anti-aging / wrinkles / firmness | Tallow Balm | Tallow delivers bioavailable vitamin A (real retinol). Use morning + night on face and neck. |
| Scars / stretch marks | Tallow Balm + 30ml Oil | Daily balm for skin nutrition; oil drops mixed into the balm for stronger penetration on older marks. |
| Sensitive skin / reactive skin | Tallow Balm | Five ingredients, no fragrance, no preservatives, no synthetic anything. The shortest ingredient list you'll find in a real moisturizer. |
| Itchy scalp / hair care | 10ml Oil | A few drops mixed into shampoo or applied directly to the scalp before showering. |
| Folliculitis / staph / ringworm | 30ml Oil | Larger conditions benefit from the larger bottle. Apply twice daily; consult a doctor for severe cases. |

10ml vs 30ml Mānuka Oil — which size?
Same oil, same East Cape source, same chemistry. The decision is just about volume.
- 10ml — choose if: first-time Mānuka oil user, single targeted concern (one toenail, a few spots), or want to test the oil on your skin before committing to the larger bottle. A 10ml bottle is enough for one 90-day toenail fungus protocol on one foot.
- 30ml — choose if: you've used the oil before and know it works for you, you're treating multiple areas, you want better per-ml value, or you're using the oil as part of a daily skincare routine alongside the tallow balm.
If you're not sure, start with the 10ml. You can always upgrade.
What we recommend for first-time buyers
- If you have one specific skin problem: 10ml Mānuka Oil. One bottle, one concern, validate the oil works on your skin.
- If you want a daily skincare upgrade: Mānuka Honey Tallow Balm (pre-order). Five ingredients, replaces your moisturizer + retinol + barrier cream in one jar.
- If you want to give a gift: The Tallow Balm in the 4oz amber jar is the most giftable product in the range — it looks like an heirloom on a bathroom counter.
What customers ask before they buy
Q: How do I know NZ Country Mānuka is better than other brands?
We wrote the brand comparison ourselves and put ourselves on the same scoring rubric as everyone else. Read the honest Mānuka oil brand comparison → Five lab-chemistry criteria, every brand graded against the same five. We grade ourselves first. If you finish reading and conclude another brand is the right fit, that's a win.
Q: I've never tried Mānuka before. Where should I start?
With the 10ml Mānuka Oil. It's the smallest commitment, it's our most-tested product (since 2016), and it works on a wide range of issues from toenail fungus to acne. If you like how it works, you can size up to the 30ml or add the tallow balm.
Q: Is the Mānuka oil one of the ingredients in the Tallow Balm?
No. The Tallow Balm has five ingredients: UMF 15+ Mānuka honey, grass-finished beef tallow, beeswax, vanilla oil, jojoba oil. The Mānuka oil and the Mānuka honey come from the same East Cape sourcing relationship — but they're different products with different chemistry (β-triketones in the oil, UMF/MGO markers in the honey).
Q: Why two different products from the same plant?
Because Mānuka oil and Mānuka honey carry different active compounds and do different things on skin. The oil targets specific conditions (fungus, acne, scars) because of its β-triketone content. The honey, paired with tallow in the balm, is for daily nutrition and barrier repair. Different jobs, same brand-trust source.
Q: Can I use both products at once?
Yes — and most longtime customers do. The tallow balm goes on as a daily moisturizer. The Mānuka oil is added on top for targeted spot treatment, mixed into the balm during a flare-up, or used on its own for protocol treatments (e.g., toenail fungus).
Q: How fast will I see results?
Depends on what you're treating. Acne spots: typically 3–7 days. Eczema patches: 2–4 weeks with consistent use. Toenail fungus: 8–12 weeks of twice-daily application. Skin-tone and anti-aging changes from the tallow balm: usually visible by week 4. Everyone's skin is different — these are typical, not guaranteed.
Q: What if it doesn't work for me?
We offer a satisfaction guarantee on every order. Email us at hello@nzcountry.com with your order number and we'll make it right.
Q: Where are these products made?
The Mānuka is sourced from East Cape, New Zealand — wild-harvested honey for the balm and wild-distilled oil for the oil line. Both products are hand-bottled in the USA after every shipment is verified against the lab certificates.
Q: Where do you ship?
We ship to the United States and the United Kingdom from our US fulfillment facility. Standard tracked shipping is free; expedited shipping is $3.99 (US) or £3.99 (UK).
