What adulterated oil actually means

Price deserves an honest look as well. A low price does not always equal poor quality, but premium botanicals have real costs: careful harvest, distillation, storage, testing, packaging, and responsible sourcing. Ask for proof, not marketing language

Online “tests” often promise certainty with a refrigerator, a piece of paper, or a few drops of water. Most are unreliable. The paper test is especially misleading because different essential oils evaporate at different rates and can naturally leave traces based on their chemical composition. Refrigeration can change the appearance of some oils without proving anything about purity.
Home observations can help you decide whether to investigate further, but they cannot replace analytical testing. If you are choosing an oil for acne-prone, eczema-prone, or reactive skin, laboratory transparency is a better standard than a viral kitchen experiment.
